I can't think of a witty title tonight...

It's Thursday. Tomorrow is Friday!! Yay for Friday! Yay for weekends! Yay for pretty weekends in Ohio!

Oh, how I wish my blog could be witty and funny like my friend Sarah Cool's. Or deep and thoughtful. One or the other would be better than what it currently is-- a whiny log of my life. How boring is that? Where's my sense of humor? Where's my perkiness? Where's my giggle? I want to tell funny stories like Sarah does. I want to convey deep thoughts like Ashley does. I want to have cool music like Lauren does. I want to express myself so easily like Lisa does. I want, I want, I want!!! Ok, comparison and whine mode off. Jenette being herself mode on!

We built a fire in the chiminea tonight. Our neighbors came over with their little girls and the kids played outside while we sat around the chiminea and talked about their youngest daughter's experience at preschool. Let me tell you about this, because I'm sure that y'all will alternate between being outraged and amused, just like me.

So this little girl was at preschool, at the local Y. Now, this kiddo has lots of energy and lots of spunk. She's a handful at her worst times, but on the whole, she's a sweet kid, a GOOD kid. I wouldn't mind having her in my class, if that tells you anything. So anyhow... said kiddo was apparently giving her preschool teacher a hard time about sitting in time out. So, one of the other kids says, "Put her in the trash can," and the teacher DOES!!!! Now, this girl is 3!!! THREE!! Tres!!! Am I making this clear? And as a disciplinary measure, she was put in a tall trash can. Can you imagine? The teacher resigned, but the parents are still a TAD upset. They are getting a refund for the entire time the girl was at the preschool, so that's something. But I cannot believe the unprofessionalism. Yet at the same time, I keep picturing the kiddo in the trash can, peeking out, and it is a funny picture. Would have been funnier if it had been done at HOME during PLAY time!!! :)

One of my kids told me yesterday that my shoes stink. These weren't even my smelly sandals that I lived in this summer. They were my cute sandals that I love to wear with skirts and stuff. But apparently they smell. So I guess it's time to pitch them. Sigh.

Ethan irked me today. Now, you all probably know or have picked up on my OCD tendencies? I'm somewhat of a neat freak? Well, Ethan wanted to paint today, so I put some paint in little cups with lids on his easel tray. I didn't want to put the paint directly into the easel tray, as it is difficult to clean up, not to mention wastes a lot of paint. So I was proud of this solution. Well, I went downstairs this evening, to find that Ethan had poured out all of the paint into the easel tray, mixing all the colors to brown. And making a mess. So in my frustration, I yelled up the stairs, "Ethan, you're not painting anymore!" My child replies, "Ok, Mommy," in a perky tone of voice. When I said something about dumping all the paints into the easel tray, he hollered, "I won't do it again, Mommy," from upstairs. Sigh. Ok, so it's really kinda funny. But it was irksome at the time.

Going to head upstairs now.

Jenette's tips o the day:
If you don't want to buy your kid ice cream from the ice cream truck, tell them that on Thursdays, the truck only sells vegetables. Ok, so it's a lie, but it cuts out a lot of whining about ice cream.

Do change into comfy clothes when you get home. Makes life happier.

Dear Jennette, I LOVE reading your blog. Its a picture into your life, and I love learning about you and your family!! I think you are one of the most thoughtful, thought-provoking, sweet, sharp as a tack people I know. You are yourself, and that's why I love you and am soo glad God gave me a "kindred spirit" in you. :)

And I CANT BELIEVE THAT A PRESCHOOL PUT A KID IN A TRASHCAN!!!!!! One of my favorite sayings can be inserted here: "WHO DOES THAT?!?!?!?!??!?!?!?!?!?!?!" Sheesh. If the kid had actually climbed in herself at home during playtime, it definitely would have been hysterical.

And by the way, the only reason I have funny stories to tell is because I do stupid things. Soooo, its kind of a trade off...

oh, and you should link to the blogs you read so I can read these deep thoughts and hear this cool music, too! ;)

I love the tip about the ice cream truck! That idiot rolls into our subdivision after her bedtime or just before it. She had no idea what it was until she watched an episode of DORA last week when they went to "Cone-y Island" to catch the ice cream truck.

While I would be appalled that my kid went in the garbage can in a public place, I would probably try it once at home for the sheer shock value of it. My daughter would have to be really really naughty. BTW, which Y was it? There are two in my area, and I was thinking of joining...

A GARBAGE CAN?!?!?! At pre-school? WOW. I agree, I can see doing that at home, I think I might have some repressed memory of something like that-garbage can, kitchen cabinet, laundry basket, etc; but what teacher thinks that can do that. What pre-school teacher falls to the demands of thier class like that. Sheesh

Misfist, the Y is in Fairfield, at their preschool. Almost sent our little bit there this year, so glad we didn't!

Isn't that the one near all the new shopping? Sorry, I only know places around here if it's next to a Target or an Old Navy! If so, then we DO live close to each other! I think we contacted that location when we first moved here for daycare since we had a great daycare experience at our old Y in New Jersey. Was surprised that none of them around here actually offer daycare--only preschool.

Misfit,
Isn't that odd that the Y only offers preschool? I was amazed too-- I used to work at a Y daycare before I got my education degree. I had hoped to put our little one in a day care similar to the one I had worked at, but they didn't offer it! Anyhow, I think you're thinking of the same Y (or at least the same county system of Y's :) ). You're probably thinking of the shopping over in the township-- is there a JC Penney over where you're thinking of too? :)

The teacher is loopy! She took advice from a preschooler to put the other preschooler in the trash can!?!? How Obserd! Sad to think what else she had done before this insident? Wacky Tacky!

This is something a bully does in junior high trash canning the nerd. Not a teacher trash canning a little 3 year old girl!!! Not that the Bully should do this either...

Why yes--there is a JC Penney :)! While I am thrilled to have a fair amount of shopping so close, I dread the holidays over there. I think I will stick to the internet. All that shopping area needs is a grocery store and I would go there each and every day!

My neighbor teaches some Spin classes at that Y--small world.

Jen, I have read a few of your blogs and find them enlightening and entertaining.

Perhaps the "teacher" in question should have a time out in the big green dumpster outside one of the local eating houses!

Miss your postings on Blairsville.com

Gray, I keep meaning to log back onto Bville.com... but I get so far behind in things, and then I get frustrated cause I can't catch up with the posts! :) But I lurk sometimes :)

Misfit, I know what you mean about knowing places if they're near a Tarjay or Old Navy. Two of the best stores around!!! :) But like you, I will be doing most of my Christmas shopping online, because everyone else thinks the stores are great too.... making holiday times hideous.

It is a small world :) I don't think I'm up for a spinning class, but I want to take a class through the community center.... maybe a yoga class or something :)
