Lurking in the shadows....

I didn't know I had lurkers! I didn't know I had people who depended on my blog for procrastination purposes! I really didn't! WOW!!! I feel so special! I love ya, Kelly!!!!

Ok,
So,
Last night.
Was one of my dearest guy friend's wedding rehearsal and the dinner. I am so honored that I get to read a Scripture in their wedding ceremony. At the rehearsal last night, I was nearly in tears because of the reading that comes before mine. I hope I can get through today without tearing up. My mascara isn't waterproof. :)

This guy, Bryan, has been one of my true friends through the past 5-6 years. We met in college, through the fraternity that I was involved in. And though we have differing views in some areas, I feel that he is truly a kindred spirit. To make it even better, my husband likes him a lot, and they can sit and talk about stuff that boggles my mind. When he introduced us to his fiancee, I was overjoyed to see that she saw all the wonderful things in him that we did. I had worried that he wouldn't find a woman who was worthy of him--- but he did--- and I am incredibly happy for them.

Aaron and I have avoided weddings for a while. There are numerous reasons for this- distance, time, money-- and on my part, a cynical and bitter attitude towards marriage. You see, for about two years, my own marriage had suffered from a distinct lack of romance, respect, communication, and committment. I didn't want to go to weddings to see people "celebrate" their love, knowing that all I felt for my husband was a mild friendliness and a distinct dislike for many of his ways.

Losing Henry was a wake up call for both of us. I will never forget my Henry. But I know that from my sorrow has come a time of healing and renewal in my marriage. And for that, I am grateful.

So I am pleased that today, I get to celebrate the marriage of a wonderful friend and his beautiful bride, Jamie-- and that I get to hold my husband's hand while they say their vows, and know that while things might get rough, while we might make some serious mistakes and stumbles along the way, we can truly celebrate the God who has brought us together and the ways He works in our lives.

Oh--- and pictures coming later this weekend from the cat incident. :)
