Mini Vacation

So last night, the Hethan spent the night with his cousin. And Aaron and I went to Belterra Casino and Resort, in Indiana.

Now, let me preface this by saying that neither of us are gamblers. Neither of us are card players either. But hey, the resort was on the Ohio River, and so we decided to go have an interesting time.

What should have been an hour and a few minutes drive turned into a two hour and a few minutes drive. We kinda missed where one highway split off from another. And we didn't have the atlas in the car. So we kinda just drove in the general direction... and eventually made it there. It wasn't so bad, because we weren't on any sort of time schedule. Except for my stomach. I was hungry when we left at 6 pm. Even hungrier when we got there at 8 pm. So we thought we'd check out Jeff Ruby's, a great steak place. Yeah. The wait was an hour and a half. Uh uh. So we went to the casino buffet--- figured we may as well, even though it looked a bit suspect. WOW!! All you can eat crab legs on Friday nights. Yeah, we devoured those suckers. Mmmm....

So then we meandered over to the casino. We wandered around a little, and played the slots a bit. It was interesting. I walked out with more money than I walked in with, but not a lot more. Then we went up to the room and ordered room service--- mozzerella sticks and Smirnoff Ices... interesting. Looked at the terribly overpriced pay per view movies. Went out of the room and wandered around the hotel for a while, looking in the gift shop and at the spa and stuff like that... fun. It really was.

Anyhow, it was a neat mini vacation, and if you haven't ever been to a casino before, I think it's fun. I can't say as though I would want to do it every weekend or even regularly. But it was a neat excursion.

This is soooo funny! We went there on Saturday!!!

Did you find the mass amounts of people staring like zombies at the slot machines odd? It was kind of uncomfortable!!!

I played some with Tyler sitting next to me - honestly, the games were kind of hard to figure out!!
