Pictures coming soon.... very entertaining.

Ok. So, I'm about 5 months pregnant. Belly is getting bigger, other things are getting bigger, including my appetite.... And, I'm seriously nesting. So about a week ago, I decided that all three cats needed baths. I bought some pretty smelling cat shampoo for them. Aaron looked at the shampoo, looked at me, and laughed. Yet, I was determined.

This morning was Cici's bath. Now, Cici is a wee bit fluffy. Some might call her overweight. Some might call her fat. No. She is simply fluffy. All 15 lbs of her. Fluffy. She trusts me (or did) completely. So it was no problem to pick her up, carry her to the tub, and close the bathroom door. Then I started running the water. And she got a look in her eyes... Then I placed her in the tub, and the fun began.

Cici normally has this quiet meow. Yeah. Today it was the sound that a Siamese cat makes when she's in heat. MROOOEEEEWWWW. Very deep, very loud, very panicked. Repeatedly. As she scrambled to find a foothold, I sprayed her with the removable shower head. She looked at me like I had betrayed her. Which, I suppose I had. Then I poured the shampoo on her and started scrubbing. Suddenly, she twisted her body and got her claws hooked into the front of my sweatshirt, so that we were face to face. I thought to myself, "Oh crap. This is NOT good." Her eyes bored into mine, and I knew that if I gave her half an opportunity, I was done for. So I deftly twisted her around again, detaching her claws and keeping my fingers away from her mouth. You never know when a cornered cat will take to biting to protect itself. I managed to get her washed, and mostly rinsed... there might be a few spots that are still soapy.

I bundled her up in a towel and held her close while I plugged in my hair dryer. Not a good idea. After chasing her around our teeny tiny (seriously, maybe 4x5 feet) bathroom with my hairdryer, I gave up and just bundled her into a towel. She is now safely ensconced in the guest bedroom, licking herself. I am going to go up and take pictures of her, which I will post later.

All in all, I'm only mildly soaked, only have two places on me that are bleeding, and only a little bit covered in cat fur.

One down, two to go!!! hehehehe!

I about fell over out of my chair laughing when I read this: "Suddenly, she twisted her body and got her claws hooked into the front of my sweatshirt, so that we were face to face. That is SO. FUNNY. It was exactly what I needed to read today!! Oh my gosh!

the kitchen sink is a better place to bathe cats. they have less room to move around and are less likely to hurt themselves.

you are crazy! Though I have to admit reading about you bathing the cats is funny and less worrisome than rearranging every room of the house by yourself:) By the way, don't get any ideas or I'll have to tattle to Jimmy:) Love ya

try putting shampoo on dry, then dropping cat into water-filled tub.
