Old Man Winter

He's here! He's finally here!!! Old Man Winter has arrived at last!

Oh, you mean you're not excited about this? You've enjoyed the above average temperatures? The dreary days in my neck of the woods with never ending rain? The grass that is yellow, not from cold, but from being water logged? Not me! Give me a good two months of winter and I'm happy! I could take more, but I hate driving in the ick of snow and ice!

So today, it snow flurried as I took Hethan to school! Yay! And it's flurrying now! And as I slept in the great room last night, I was actually cold! (Not sleeping in my bed because it's too high off of the ground right now, and there's no back support... for some reason, Aaron refuses to be a part of my pillow mound.) Anyhow, I like a bit of cold weather! It makes you appreciate warmer weather more.

Not that I'd like to be like my friend Nick (whom I've never actually met, mind you, but we're friends nonetheless) who spends a great deal of his time in the Antarctic. It's a bit too chilly there for me, ya know? But I bet Nick and his wife appreciate the warmer weather when they head north! :)

I need to figure out what to make for supper. I have chicken defrosted. But I don't want broiled, baked, grilled, or otherwise, chicken. I kinda want chicken and noodles, but I have no celery or carrots to cook with. I'd even take a chicken and rice dish, but I have no rice. I wonder if I could combine a chicken and noodle recipe with a chicken and rice recipe and make something new?

I can't have anything spicy or anything like that. I had spaghetti and meatballs, salad, and garlic bread last night. I regretted the sauce, the salad, the meatballs, and the garlic in the bread. So if I'd just had naked noodles, I would have been fine.

Hmmm... should stop procrastinating so I can get some food a cookin'. Bleh. Bleh. Bah! I'm nearly 34 weeks pregnant--- shouldn't someone be treating me like royalty and taking me out to eat every night? Oh yeah. I don't like going out to eat that often. Sigh. Ok. Off to rummage and search the cookbooks and then to cook!

Just for the record, when I arrived home I was informed that I was making dinner tonight, which I promptly did. Had Polish sausage and my made-from-scratch macaroni and cheese. ;)

She did end up making a German chocolate cake however, which was delicious.

10 degrees and 8 inches of snow on the ground here... on top of a 2 inch thick sheet of ice. Who needs a skating rink when you have the church parking lot?
