Rats and Friends

Ok. Life has been busy. So much to update. Are you ready? GO!!!

Funny story courtesy of my MIL: She was swimming all alone in the neighborhood pool yesterday, when she looked over and saw a RAT swimming with her! She scrambled out of the pool as fast as she could (she doesn't swim, had a book with her, was on a raft) and got out of the pool. She called the pool people. No answer. Didn't want to leave the pool, in case a kid came by and got in with a RAT in there. She called my FIL and he said to go to the housing office. She didn't want to do that. She then saw a neighbor outside, and asked him to help her. She told him there was a RAT in the pool. He asked, "Are you sure it isn't a mole?" Yeah. It wasn't. So they got a bucket, scooped the RAT up and put the lid on the bucket. They then dumped it in the dumpster. Hoping the swimming RAT would drown. Poor RAT. Funny story.

Ok. That was my giggle for the day, imagining my MIL sharing the pool with a rat.

Updates.

We had an ultrasound yesterday. Heartbeat looks good. Size is good. Everything is where it should be at this stage. We'll have another ultrasound in about 6 weeks. We'll be able to tell if the kidneys are there and functioning at that ultrasound. I'm already pooching out... doing the rubberband trick with my pants.... sigh....

We had an impromptu girl's night at Starbucks last night. I've been craving coffee... so, the ladies I walk with in the evening, we decided to go to Starbucks. As we pulled in, I saw my out of town guests getting into their car (they hadn't made it to our house yet) after their trip to Starbucks. So I hollered at Nicci and told her to come join us for our girl's evening. WHAT A BLAST! We closed down Starbucks. Everyone else was ready to go over to Charity's house to karaoke... but I was a party pooper and insisted on getting home before midnight because I was too tired and sick feeling. But we giggled and laughed and drank Starbucks. And then my friends treated me to a bag of decaf coffee since I've been craving coffee. Of course, they laughed at the fact that I only have a four cup coffee maker. What can I say? Aaron and I don't drink a lot of coffee... I've always been more of a tea drinker. :)

I had a truly pregnant moment on Sunday. We were shopping at Old Navy, using our 20% off bag, and I was looking at maternity clothes. I held up a t shirt and said, "It's sooo big! Am I really going to get that big?" And Aaron looked at me and replied, "Yes." I started bawling. Right. In. The. Middle. Of. The. Aisle. Yeah. Don't take this wrong, I'm really excited about being pregnant and all of the stuff that comes with it. It's just that I finally got back into a GOOD size for the FIRST time since Ethan was born, and now I'm going to gain weight again. In the long run, it isn't a big deal. It was just traumatic at that moment.

Um. I'll be MIA next week. Church camp, and Ethan and I will be spending time at the campgrounds for a few days.

Ethan's birthday is on Aug 1st. He's having a CARS party on Sunday at 3 pm. If you're a reader of the blog and I know you, and you want to come, feel free! :)

Off to shower before I stink the place up.

I'm not sure how much if any I have commented on here before, but I am a frequent reader. I'm glad things are going well for you with this pregnancy. Just curious how far along you are?

Happy Birthday to Ethan!!

The "pregnant moment" made me lol more than the 'rat'! Just think, though, you'd be sincerely crying if you had not gotten to that Good size. Your body will bounce back after baby arrives :-) have fun at camp! C
