Pee Fights

Here is my story for the day....

As we pulled up to Meijer, I told the kids that we would use the bathroom first thing, because I didn't want to get in the middle of the store and have to back track. We walked into the store and made our bathroom stop. Ethan told me that he could do everything himself, so I busied myself with washing my hands and waiting for the kids to be finished. Ethan came out of the bathroom and asked me to help him fasten his pants. So I did and as I did, I noticed a strong urine smell.

"Did you wet your pants, buddy?" I asked.
"I leaked a little. But Tony peed on my leg," he replied.
"He peed on your leg?" I questioned, thinking to myself that tonight was DEFINITELY bath night.

Ethan didn't answer me, since Lolo came out of the bathroom at that point and they were having a great time playing with the automatic hand dryers.

I promptly forgot about this conversation as we made our way through the store. I was going mad from my poison ivy, which by now has spread to un-scratchable in public- places. The kids were entranced by the grocery cart with the television inside of it, which I had broken down and paid a dollar for them to ride in.

We got home and the day continued on. I had a minor/major breakdown after Ethan went to a friend's house because I am at the exact point in this pregnancy that I was when I lost Henry. I took a few minutes to play my flute and let my tears fall. Aaron came home and I completely lost it. I wanted to lash out at something and told him so. He offered to get Cici the cat so that I could shave her--- which would have at least taken care of the poison ivy frustration. But we decided that wouldn't be a good outlet.

So we ate supper, hopped in the car and went to our church board meeting. We had a good meeting, over in record time. Ethan had a minor meltdown about taking a bath as we were driving home. As he was arguing about this with us, I suddenly remembered our conversation about him being peed on. I mentioned this to Aaron.

"Ethan, why did Tony pee on your leg?" Aaron asked Ethan.
"We were having a Pee Race. That's what Alex and I do," Ethan said, ever so nonchalantly.
"A Pee Race?" I questioned, my voice raising slightly.
"Yep. Tony won. Sometimes Alex and I have Pee Fights," he stated.
"What do you do during Pee Fights?" Aaron asked.
"And Pee Races?" I interjected.
"Oh, we try to get each other. And we see who can finish peeing first. Tony won this time."

By this time, Aaron and I were dying of laughter. I had to pee pretty badly as it was, and I wasn't sure I was going to make it home without having a pee incident of my own.

And then, when were tucking him in bed, he told us about his invisible friend, Aaron-- or Erin--- I'm not sure if it is a girl or boy. Anyhow, I just took that one in stride--- because after the Pee conversation, I wasn't sure that I was up to any more creativity.

So Auntie Em--- I don't know where our boys came up with Pee Fights and Pee Races, but it gave us quite the laugh today. Hope it gave everyone else a giggle.

On a serious note daughter, you might want to consider washing all the bedding. If Cici brought in the poison ivy, then it is probable that the oil is on your pillow covers, etc. also the clothes you were wearing when she was "petting" you. Ain't kids grand?:) At least it keeps life from being boring! Love ya, Mom

Yeah, already changed the pillowcases, and will be washing the sheets today, since I woke up with the sheet wrapped around my hand, scratching my chest. Figure there's gotta be some oil in that one for sure.

Miss you.

That was hilarious! Little boys are interested in odd things, aren't they?
Sorry about the poison ivy, I hope you are feeling better soon. Dwight had a pretty bad case a few months ago...it wasn't fun.

Hi, Jenette! It's me, Heidi (aka javajunkie) from the Mom's group. :) Just wanted to leave you a comment to let you know I stopped by to enjoy your musings.

I enjoyed this post. :) My husband has admitted to me before that he and his 2 younger brothers used to do this very same thing. LOL

I read a few more of your posts on here, and I confess that I am hooked! I think I might end up being a regular visitor here to get my fix of your musings. I love your sense of humor and writing style. :) Hope you and the fam have a great weekend!
